Tomorrow Kenzo heads off to Northern California and we couldn't be more excited.
A little bit nervous about the drive, but excited about the journey we are about to embark on.
I decided to write a blog about a few of my favorite cosmetics I recently purchased that are VERY affordable before we're off. I love make-up a little more than I can confess and if you were wondering I did teach myself. I can teach you too, just don't ask me about hair. I barely learned how to braid thanks to Zoe. Zoe is AMAZING at hair and hopefully we can connivence her into doing some hair tutorials for y'all (wink wink). I love trying new products, A LOT. I've tried over a dozen mascaras and eyeshadows. But sometimes we get tired of buying expensive cosmetics and just need affordable make-up that works well, I know I do.
The first item I recently bought and I'm obsessed with. OBSESSED.
It's from Elf and it's called the Little Black BEAUTY BOOK.
There are 2 editions available, this one is called the cool python edition.
This little black book includes 48 colors and is very convenient when traveling. It fits practically everywhere, besides your pocket. It includes a mirror and an eyeshadow brush. I would recommend buying an eyeshadow brush like this for better coverage and appearance:
(This brush is from ELF and it's only $3.25!!!)
The colors include browns, whites, blacks, blues, and the most amazing pinks and purple eyeshadows I have ever seen. If I could wear them everyday I would. If you need a bunch of eyeshadows, I recommend you buy this little book, it's available for only $6!!!
I hate when people take Elf cosmetics for granted because the prices are cheap. They maybe cheap, but they work very well. I own this liquid eyeliner from them that only cost me $3 and I use it everyday. It lasts all day and the best part about it is that it doesn't smear.
The next item is Katy Perry Eyelashes.
I recently started wearing fake eyelashes, I wanted to try them out and because sometimes you just don't have enough time to put on mascara. Fake eyelashes are a real time saver.
I'm wearing them here, they are very long and aren't extravagant, well these aren't:
She has 4 types of eyelashes you can choose from:
The ones I'm wearing are called, Oh Honey!
She also has Cool Kitty, Oh, My, and Sweetie Pie available in that order:
The glue isn't my favorite that comes with the eyelashes because it's hard to stick on your eyelashes when applying them and after a few hours they feel like they're coming off. It takes a little practice, but it is a bit frustrating. The eyelashes are only $6 at ULTA and I personally love them.
The next item is BABY LIPS:
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVVVVEEEE Baby Lips.
I own the flavors Quenched (the light blue one) and Pink Punch (the pink one).
They are lip balms, so basically a stylish chapstick. They leave your lips feeling soft like a "baby's bottom." But if you apply the colored ones like the Pink Punch it works as a chapstick and a lipstick in one. Did I mention they taste delicious and are only $2.99 at Target. Oh Yeah, go grab like 3!
Another lip product I enjoy is Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter:
They are a butter balm, plus a shiny color all in one tube. This works as a lipstick, but with the protection of chapstick. Unlike Baby Lips these show the color more extravagantly. I own the flavors Candy Apple and Strawberry Shortcake. The candy apple gives you the right color of red for the night and Strawberry shortcake gives you a light pink for the day. These are a little pricy at $8 a piece. But they are on sale right now at Target for $5 or $6. GO GRAB SOME, they are lovely colors that you won't regret. I definitely recommend the Candy Apple for you red lip lovers!
Last item on the list is Maybelline's Color Show Nail Polish:
They have a wide variety of colors, but my favorite has been Green With Envy. If you've been having trouble finding a beautiful mint color, this is the color for you!
I recently bought Born This Way. It's a lovely pastel pink as shown below:
The plus side to these nail polishes is they are the color shown, they are affordable at $2.99 a piece at Target, of course. They don't chip easily at all. I've been wearing this nail polish for about a week and they just chipped (I didn't put a top coat on). Downside to this nail polish is you need a couple of coats to get the color shown and you run out pretty fast because of all the coats being put on.
I hope you guys enjoy these affordable cosmetics! They are some of my favorite and some of Zoe's favorite too. We're both obsessed with BABY LIPS and is one item that you'll always see in our bag. If you have any questions on make-up and hair don't be shy and feel free to leave a comment below or tweet us! We both have tried several products and can probably tell you a bit or two about them.
I'll convince Zoe to write a blog about HAIR VERY SOON! She's a pro.
XOXO, Kenzo.
